It’s that time of the year again. Time for the annual Healthcare Information Management Systems Society, otherwise known as HIMSS in New Orleans. This is a great venue to network, learn new topics, get an update to information you already know, take your CPHIMS exam or at least take a review course or look for a new employer.
Although, I’ve never been to a HIMSS conference, I have heard great things about it. I long to attend one but it has not happened in my 9 years in informatics. Registration costs can be quite pricey, so if you are not able to pay for it yourself, you can check with your employer to pay for you to attend.
