How Systems Cause Behavior

Exciting webinar from the Lewis Institute

Dr Edwards Deming, the quality guru, admonished managers to fix systems before the could expect workers to “do it right the first time,” because if the system was not capable of desired performance, the workers could not overcome it. Then, in his book, The Fifth Discipline, Dr. Peter Senge showed how system archetypes cause organizations to repeat

patterns that cause them to experience failure–patterns such as the boom-bust cycle.

It happens in projects too, and can be impossible to overcome.

We’ll explore how systems cause behavior and discuss what you have to do to change those systems so the you aren’t victimized by them.
