The American Nurses Informatics Association’s annual conference is on May 2-4, 2013. This year’s theme is Navigating the River of Data to Wisdom in San Antonio, Texas. Although, I have been in the informatics field for several years, I have never been able to attend one. Some of my reasons were not being able to take time off from work, lack of funds to pay for the conference, airfare, hotel, meals, and other miscellaneous fees. I have to say I was able to take time off last year to attend, but; project deadlines prohibited me from attending. I wish I could attend this year but I will be starting a new job and do not have any vacation hours yet. Here are top 5 reasons to attend: 1.) Fabulous speakers will delight you in knowledge 2.) Network with the best of the best in nursing informatics 3.) 18.25 nursing education contact hours 4.) Free access to the ANIA online library to help you remember what you learned and to share with your colleagues 5.) Besides the knowledge, being in San Antonio, Texas and the Riverwalk should be on your bucket
list What is your reason for not attending? For more information about this conference, click here for the program.
